All Native American prehistoric pottery and artifacts have been legally acquired. They have not been stolen, falsified, forged, or restored (without being so stated) and further they have not been taken illegally from Federal Lands, Public Lands, State Lands, or Indian Lands in violation of the Archaeological Resources Act of 1979.

PROFILE:
Rarepottery.info was founded around 2004 by Native American historians: Dan & Monica King. Since that time www.rarepottery.info has grown to be the largest single resource for referencing Native American pottery and artists. Now archaeologists, even working in the field in remote locations, can instantly type pottery, including trade wares via internet satellite connection. Today, more than ever, we feel it is extremely important not to be a burden on the local, state, or federal economy and thus we rely 100% on funding from our activities, services, and sponsors. It is our goal to one day open a "museum".
THE GOAL:
A very unique piece of property came on the market. A deaccessioned Titan II Missile complex. The command center and missile bay were imploded in 1983. Imploded, gutted of salvageable materials and stripped to next to nothing it landed in the hands of a gentleman that put a lot of sweat and money into opening the command center. This site is the location of our future museum. The plans are to do private tours into the command center and someday, the silo that housed the missile itself.
THE COLLECTIONS:
Military: Of course, Cold War era items and structures will be seen on all levels.
Pioneer/Historic: Some of the highlights of this time are a magnificent Mojave beaded collar and Papago child's burden basket called a Keeho (Kiahas). Much Native American pottery.
Prehistoric: There are about 1200 items in the pottery collection alone. This includes many rare types, varieties, forms, and designs that are not even known and haven't been reported in archaeological text. The stone collection is also impressive with extremely rare Casas Grandes parrot cage door plugs (a face and a phallus) believed to have been documented by renowned archaeologist, Charles Di Peso. There is also a polychrome basket believed to have been made by the Hohokam and traded to the Mimbres that dates 1050-1150 A.D.
Archaic/Paleo: Stone lithics, tools and points dating over 10,000 years ago including a piece of rare clovis found in Southern Arizona and an intact clovis point from Florida.
Natural History: Minerals, fossils, and antlers of Southern Arizona. Extensive collection of unique Coues Whitetail and Desert Mule Deer antlers including shed antler history displays that show the growth of individual deer through most of their lives.
STAGE 1: "THE LAUNCH"
Project needs: Electric. This site is off-grid. We need solar pads and deep cell batteries. Climate control system, stairs, escape hatch, display cabinets, etc.
With your help we can make this dream a reality. We are trying to prevent the current funding and regulation issues that the non-profit museums are facing today. We plan on continuing the www.rarepottery.info virtual museum for free. We are offering memberships to the Titan Museum with includes different benefits depending on levels. Members joining now get to see the museum in its birth. Private, guided tour of the Titan II Command Center. Walk through the structure thirty feet underground and see some prehistoric stone artifacts on display, including one of the largest Hohokam effigy paint pallets ever found. The parrot plugs can also be viewed. The fragile pottery is currently not on display during the first stage of construction. To see updates and join our membership please visit: https://www.patreon.com/join/prehistoriccollector
Donations:
If you wish to donate above your chosen membership tier or would like to donate without becoming a member please visit our "Donations" page.
We also accept tangible donations, we appreciate all the help we can get. This project literally knows no bounds. We gratefully accept single items to entire collections or estates. All items donated become the property of the museum and may be displayed, stored, traded, or sold at our discretion to benefit the museum.
